Festival Volunteer Application Instructions

OVERVIEW: To complete a Festival Volunteer Application:
Obtain a Volunteer Application in one of the following ways:

ABOUT THE APPLICATION: All methods of volunteer application are organized into three sections to aid in your telling us what type of job you would like to do, and when you would like to work. You will need to use all three sections to complete it.

  1. About You - this section asks for your contact information (name, address, phone, etc.), your volunteer experience and any special skills.
  2. Job Descriptions - this section tells the names of all the available jobs during the Festival and a brief description of each, including any special skills required.
  3. Job Shifts (Days and Times) - this section gives the duration of shifts available for each type of job. Please note that this information is based on all of the jobs available at the start of volunteer recruitment. By the time you submit your application, some shifts may already be filled.

COMPLETING THE APPLICATION: Following the three sections of the application, there are essentially three steps to completing it.

  • First, tell us your name and how to reach you. It is common that we will need to contact you to finalize your job assignment so be sure to give us a way to call or e-mail you questions. This will allow us to more effectively assign you a job of your liking.
  • Second, review the Job Descriptions to find a job or jobs that interests you. Please select several different jobs you would like to do in case your first choice is already filled.
  • Third, review the Job Shifts to see when you might want to do your job. Note that some jobs are marked "DOUBLE SHIFT" because they require 8-10 hours of work (most are Setup AND Teardown jobs for which the volunteer is required to work both). One job (PARKING LOT CREW) counts as a DOUBLE SHIFT since it is working in the sun and dirt. You will need to select several choices and rank them first, second and third (in the first column of the Job Shifts section on the hardcopy forms, and by making three separate selections on the on-line form).
  • Finally, return your completed application to CTMS (mail the application to the address above). Once your job assignment is finalized, you will receive a packet in the mail containing your contract (a copy to keep, one to sign and return), and instructions and a map for training.
